Nicollet Island

When the temperature is near zero (F) and windchill is subzero, it's not really a good time for a photography stroll. But I did anyway. *laugh* I received an email about a group heading out to roam Nicollet Island as the full moon rose, so of course I couldn't resist that kind of opportunity. I love Nicollet Island and the surrounding area. It's an interesting area of the city that I think a lot of people overlook.

How disappointing that the link you posted, which I presume serves as the "official" site for info about this locale is, in fact, not nearly as accurate nor as poetic as this post. I thought about writing a response to the people who created that website to suggest that maybe Nicollet Island likely "began" before Minneapolis and St. Paul even existed, but I suspect that sort of comment would fall on deaf ears.

Thanks for braving the cold for some interesting photos and for getting the facts right.
