Fuck Yeah
Saw Ween and the Flaming Lips on Thursday in Allentown. We got there when Sonic Youth was playing.
Ween was pretty good, pretty colored smoke and pretty awesome and I surprisingly didn't know many of the songs they played though.
The Flaming Lips though... were fucking amazing. It was an epic experience.
Background-television with his face totally huge and close while talking, cool and very well done videos and pretty things during songs, tons of colorful confetti, bright yellow big balloons, dancing santas and aliens on the sides of the stage, superhero costumes and huge hands and such for other band members, Wayne Cohen crowdsurfing in a huge plastic bubble, total interaction with the crowd, perfect weather for an outdoor concert, fucking great sound, and just a total fucking colorful orgasm. Better than that.
My words do NOT even count.. It was the best experience ever, it was a fucking trip without the drugs, it was so completely worth more than the 3 hour drive, the 50 bucks, and standing for hours being hungry.
I don't even know why I wrote about it, because you have to go see it for yourself. YOU DO!
