questionable parenting
i think there's something wrong with parents these days. i notice kids riding up and down my street with parents nowhere in sight. since the parents aren't around the kids do whatever they feel like doing. i see kids riding their bikes in and out of my drive way all the time and by this i mean riding past all the cars that are in our drive way almost all the way up to the garage. every time i've seen this i think to myself somethings going to happen they're gonna run into one of our cars or something.
guess what happened today? a kid ran into the side of my mother's car as she was pulling into our drive way. there wasnt any damage to the car and the kid didn't get hurt. the once thing i noticed was that after the fact the kids mom showed up and was assessing any possible damage her kid may have done to my moms car. i hear the kids mom say "they shouldn't be riding around in your driveway anyway."
i'm thinking to myself well why didn't you teach the kid that in the first place? teach him right from wrong. when i was that age i would never be so bold as to do such a thing. i always thought... it's not my property what place do i have there unless i'm invited?
