I broke my baby toe a few days ago. It happened for the same reasons I've incurred many of my injuries: I don't pay attention and I move too fast. The result was kind of cool, but unpleasant. The toe went off diagonally, as if it were trying to make an escape. I'm calling it my zombie foot 'cause the whole thing's turned a slightly rotten colour and has me walking like I'm lacking a knee.
I've been the stool riden, order taker at work. I haaate facing a wall, in a seat, all night long, and often hobble into other jobs. Tonight I handed some guy his drinks, and just as he was about to drive off he said, "I hope your toe feels better Melody." I was like, "Thanks! Wait. What?" This guy is an occasional customer but doesn't know me. I have a nametag and a current limp, but really? Do I have a new stalker friend?
Life is dull and stressful in general. I've got debt that I don't quite know how to pay off. It turns out working two almost full-time, minimum wage jobs leaves you with a hefty tax bill. Then there's my credit card...
I'm a bit of a vagrant. I have a suitcase-full of belongings in Hamilton and have been sleeping between Dave's and my family's place (mostly Dave's.) I go back to my job at Noisette in mid-August, and have started looking for an apartment closer to work for September. Noisette is in Markham, but I'm trying to keep my search limited to the GTA so that wherever I live, it's not completely unreasonable for people to commute to visit me. Argh, adulthood.
I'm sure I'll get everything sorted out. It's been less than a year trying to hack it away from home, so of course it should be rough. If all goes according to plan, or resembles the plan somehow, I'll be a debt free, certified pastry chef in a few years. We'll see!
PS I was looking through Dave's iphone pictures today, and it's nothing but a lovebird lovefest. I'm gonna post some of the pictures because OMG cute!!
