Daunting little cucumbers.
You also need garlic, pickling spice, and well, dill.
A dopey guard dog for the dill is not necessary, but reccomended.
Heat bottles, throw ingredients in, and pack 'em tight!
Lame, old Batman movie is also not required.
When the bottles are packed, we fill them with boiling, salty vinegar water, and then seal 'em tight. At first the cucumbers turn an almost flourescent green. They quickly fade to a normal picklish colour though. Comparison:
Extra dill? Consider hiring on a moody bird to make use of it.
This has been a yearly tradition with my family for as long as I can remember. They start us young.
Rachel's first year. 2006 I think?
My grandma has always been the one to organise it, even though she hates the responsibility and hates pickles! I've been suggesting that we do it at my apartment this year. I'm not much of the tradition sort, but I've always loved this, and someone has to take it off my grandmas hands eventually. I figure both my roomates would be into it too, so that's a plus.
I meant to post these when I took them, last spring. Oops!
