Aww, I'm glad you like these, bb. I watched the show in June and haven't been able to let go of it yet. I'm still so in love with all the characters. ♥ Hence the icon making. :D

Thank you so much for your comment! It made me smile. :D

i got the DVD set for my dad the year it came out for christmas, and i'm pretty sure i watch it monthly. the opening theme always makes me tear up, and those last ten minutes of the whole thing? "grandpa, were you a hero in the war?" grandpa said, "no, but i served in the company of heroes." i bawl like a little kid every time, it's kind of pathetic.
but yes yes yes those are beautiful and amazing and i love you so so much for these!

The opening theme never fails to make me emotional, too. The music and the images are just so beautiful. <3 And I know what you mean with that quote of Dick Winters. And when Bill Guarnere says, "sometimes it still makes me cry" I start bawling too. The interview with the real Easy men might just be my 'favorite' thing about the series. Well, that and the pretty actors who delivered an outstanding job. They gave the war a human face and that I really do appreciate, because before I watched BoB I was never really interested in what happened in my country and continent over 60 years ago.

You're very welcome! I'm planning to make icons of each episode, so I still have 6 episodes to go. \o/

see, i'm a huge ww2 nerd and always have been-- it's always been a really fascinating point in american and world history, to me, and the fact that i'm jewish (my grandmother lost 3 brothers and her mother in dachau, and my great-aunt's husband and her 5 kids died in sachsenhausen) brings it even closer to home, you know? i cry through pretty much the entire camp episode, and then watching some of those men die later-- being a hero doesn't mean you survive, it means you did something right and good and you're going to heaven for that, you know? i don't know if i'm making sense... anyway, yeah, bill's quote always makes me tear up, and the interviews in general are just magnificent.

You're making perfect sense, bb. Why We Fight makes me cry everytime I see it, too, but I can only imagine what's going through you when you watch it. What a horrifying time it was and I'm so sorry that it happened to your family. I fully agree with you about the hero part. They did something right, they fought for something that was very much worth fighting for and I do not even want to think about what would have happened if the Americans and other Allied countries had decided to stay out of it. We are free today because of these brave men.

Your comment actually made me tear up. Thank you for sharing it with me. ((HUGS))
