This day can't get any better

Sep 10, 2003 23:17

Well...it's here. The results from the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. I GOT IN! But, what was an even bigger shock was my chair placement.

Cello Section:
  • 1a. Youn-Kyun Kim, Principal
  • 1b. Bruce Walker, Assistant Principal
  • 2a. Samantha Nawrocki
  • 2b. Eric Lakanen
  • 3a. Adam Wheeler
  • 3b - 6a. ---> other people
Can you FUCKIN' BELIEVE THAT! I go from not making the cut last year to THAT! I jumped, screamed, and cried all at the same time. I couldn't believe it. This has been on of the best days of my life. Whatever anyone tells you...practice DOES make perfect because I am offical living proof.

So this semester, this is what I have in front of me to complete:
  • Principal Cello - Southern Illinois University Edwardsville
  • Asst. Principal Cello - St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra
  • Junior Recital
  • Graduate Piano Trio (Beethoven - Trio #5 "Ghost" in D major)
  • Cello in SIUE Wind Symphony
  • ASTA String Competition (I have to learn a required piece for that competition -Haydn/Piatigorsky - Divertimento in D major)
  • Belleville Philharmonic Concerto Competition
  • SIUE Concerto/Aria Competition
  • St. Louis Symphony Concerto Competition (since I'm now eligible)
  • Other classes @ SIUE (Music Ed 301a - General Elem. Music; Analysis)
I have a lot on my plate, but I know I can do it. It's something I love doing and I sooooo proud. Good Job Bruce *pats on back*
