Word Count: 666...this made me laugh...
Summary:Heaven was a boring place; at least, compared with earth, Heaven was a boring place.
Heaven was a boring place; at least, compared with earth, Heaven was a boring place. Castiel was staring out a window, watching the other angels interact. Had Castiel not been locked in this room, he would be one of those angels, if he remembered how to be one of those angels. After spending a year with Dean on earth, Castiel doubted that he could still behave as the other angels did. He could not talk about their father’s big plan anymore because Castiel’s faith in his father was wavering, and Castiel doubted his father even still existed. Castiel had changed a lot over the last year, and it was all thanks to Dean Winchester.
Dean. Castiel felt a pull on his heart at the thought of the hunter, no, his hunter. Castiel was confused at this feeling. It was new to him, had Dean been near him, Castiel would have asked Dean to explain this horrible feeling. Castiel wondered why he had never had this feeling when Dean was around, could this feeling be caused by Dean being so far from Castiel?
“Castiel,” Castiel turned from the window to see Zachariah sitting in a car by the door. A chair that was not there a few minutes ago.
Castiel’s holding cell was just a room with four white walls and a single window. There was no furniture to be seen, and no colors other than white. Even Castiel’s clothing was a pure white robe with white sandals, the lack of colors hurt Castiel’s eyes; he missed the color of earth.
“Have you thought about my offer?” Zachariah raised an eyebrow at Castiel’s annoyed expression.
Castiel sighed, allowing his expression to change to one of indifference. “Yes and the answer is no.”
“I don’t think you understand how important this decision is for you.” Zachariah stood up and walked over to Castiel, stopping when he was an arm length away. “If you say yes, you can keep your wings and stay an angel.”
Castiel glared at Zachariah, a look he had learned from Dean, “I refuse. If I were to agree to this offer, I would not be able to leave Heaven.”
Zachariah returned Castiel’s glare, “No. You would never get to see Dean again.” A slight smirk starting to appear on Zachariah’s lips. “Then, I guess it’s a good thing that Dean doesn’t want to see you again.”
Castiel’s emotions quickly flickered across his face before becoming emotionless, “I do not care.”
“Oh Cas, you would put Dean through having to see you, after you abandoned him? After you broke his heart? He doesn’t care about you anymore.” Zachariah’s smirk growing bigger.
Castiel looked away from Zachariah, “I did not abandon him. I would never abandon him, I could not abandon him.”
Castiel returned to looking out the window, how could Dean think that he had abandoned him. Castiel could never do such a thing, Castiel could never harm Dean. “I do not care. Even if I must follow Dean in secret, I will forever be his guardian angel.”
“Fine, be that way. I’ll leave you to think, I shall be back to ask you again.” A chuckle escaped Zachariah’s lips as he vanished.
Castiel stared out the window, just to look away a few second later. Castiel could not focus on anything except the beating of his heart. Castiel clutched his chest, as a sharp pain went through his heart, which caused him to kneel, so he would not fall.
“Dean.” Castiel whispered, still clutching his chest. “Please care. Please don’t think I abandoned you. I need you.”
Tears started to roll down Castiel’s cheeks. Castiel could not live if Dean hated him. Castiel let out a short yell, his chest was causing him a lot of pain. Castiel looked up at the ceiling, but all he could see was Dean’s face. Castiel looked back down at the floor and said the one thing he thought he would never say aloud, “I love you Dean.”
