Dean felt as though his life was stuck on repeat. The only thing that seemed to change was the city. All the demons seemed to blend and that made it seem like Dean was fighting the same demon day after day after day. The only good thing about Dean's life was that he and Sam had patched things up as best they could, given the circumstances. The only thing that would make Dean's life any better, besides being able to get a good nights sleep, was to have his angel standing next to him. Although, after a month of Cas missing in action, Dean was starting to think his angel was either dead or stuck up in heaven getting punished. Honestly, Dean didn't know which was a better choice. An alive Cas would be nice, but not one that was getting punished for trying to help save the world. Stupid Angels.

As Dean put more pressure on the gas pedal of the impala, his thoughts started to wonder. What would punishment be like in heaven? A shiver went down Dean's spine as he thought about Cas getting the feathers of his wings pulled out one by one. God, Dean wished Cas was sitting in the back seat of the impala, seeing as Sam was asleep in the passenger seat.

"Dean." Apparently Sam was awake.

"What?" Dean hadn't meant to sound mad.

"You look like crap."

"Yeah well, not all of us can get our beauty sleep."

"Then, let me drive."

"Like hell! You are NOT allowed to touch my baby after last time."

"Oh please, would you get over it, it was an accident."

"Doesn't matter. You scratched my baby."

"Fine." Sam seemed to be going back to sleep. At least, Dean hoped Sam would go back to sleep. It wouldn't help Dean escape his thoughts, but it would allow him to escape Sam's interrogation. Although, that was probably going to take place when Sam was fully awake.

Dean was packing up his bag as Sam was throwing the other bags into the impala. This job was done, now on to the next one. Wahoo was all Dean could think, eyes rolling. Dean's life was getting really predictable as of late. Spend two days in a town, kill a demon, move on to the next town and do the same thing. His life became a pattern that Dean needed to break. Maybe a vacation was in order!

"That would be unwise." Dean knew that voice. That was the voice that would break Dean of this unhealthy patterned life.

"What?" Dean wouldn't be Dean if he didn't make the angel admit that he had read Dean's mind.

"To leave your job." The angel had his blue eyes trained on Dean's green ones.

"I wouldn't be leaving my job, just taking a break from it." Dean felt a defiant smile form on his lips.

"There is much to do." The angel was relentless, but something seemed off about him.

"You feelin okay Cas?" A change of subject would be good.

"That doesn't matter. What matters is that you must do your job." The angel refused to back down.

"I wont quit or even take a vacation, so long as you tell me where you've been for the last month." Dean wasn't in the mood to let the angel off the hook. Dean was too stubborn to let the angel of the hook.

"Home." One simple word, with no emotion behind them.

Dean left his bag and walked over to where Castiel was standing. He stopped about a foot in front of the angel. Without a warning, Cas placed his head on Dean's shoulder. Dean was taken aback. That was the last thing Dean had expected the angel to do. "What did they do to you?"

"Kept me from you."
