Yunho climbed the stairs and turned the key. He expected someone to greet him, untied his tie, hugged him and kissed him. But he found nobody. He let out a heavy sigh as he closed the door. He didn’t want to think about anything at all. What he needed tonight was lots and lots of scotches. The song Total Eclipse of The Heart kept him company tonight.
‘Yes, I need you now tonight.’
Flashback
“I’m sorry but we need to break up.” Yunho sounded hoarse. Jaejoong stopped cutting the carrot and looked at him. “You’re funny, Yun! You got me!” Forced laugh came out from his mouth. Yunho looked straight at him and Jaejoong knew right away that his 3-year boyfriend was serious.
“And why is that?” Yunho didn’t say anything for a couple of seconds but when he opened his mouth, something unexpected came out, “I have to marry other girl.” Jaejoong scoffed angrily, “So, about this matchmaking thing again? You can always say no!” there came unexpected answer again, “You know I can’t do that.”
“Because you can’t say no to your parent? Because you are Mommy’s nice little boy, right?” Jaejoong raised his tone up but he got nothing from Yunho. He continued, “I can’t believe that’s the reason, Yun! I can’t believe I’m dating a weak guy! I can’t believe I even loved you!” Tears rolled down from his eyes to her cheeks. Still, no answer from his boyfriend. Jaejoong shook his head, he walked to their room and packed everything that he could grab from their closet. He came out minutes later with a luggage on his right hand. He took a last glance of Yunho and said, “Tell me these 3 years mean nothing to you! Tell me!” He wiped the tears on his cheek with his hands. Yunho looked at him, “These 3 years mean nothing for me.” Jaejoong widened his eyes for a second, but then he left the house without saying anything.
Yunho went down on his knees as tears streamed down from his eyes. “It’s because I want to protect you, baby.” He whispered to no one.
End of Flashback
Yunho didn’t even realize that now he was standing in front of a mirror with his wedding tux on. He couldn’t think of anything else but Jaejoong these days. He fixed his tie once again and suddenly someone knocked the door. “Come in.” It was Changmin, his best man. “Dude, are you sure you want to do this?” Changmin was the only one who knew the reason his best friend left his boyfriend. Yunho only gave him a faint nod. “I have something for you.” Changmin gave him a letter and left the room.
Yunho stared at the letter. White. Jaejoong’s favorite color. He opened the letter and right away he realized whose hand writing it belonged to.
Dear YunnieBear,
I’m sorry about my behavior the last time.
Changmin told me the real reason why you broke up with me. Why didn’t you tell me, Yun?
I cried for days when I left your house that day. You know my eyes would be puffy if I cried, right?
I was so childish that I thought I could be with you forever.
I just want you to know that you will always be the one for me.
I felt the meaning of true love when I was with you.
I hope you find the meaning of true love with her, Yun.
Love, BooJae.
Yunho folded the letter and put it into his pocket. He wiped his tears with his hands and exited the room. Ready for the wedding.
“At this time, I’ll ask you, Yunho, and you, Seon Mi, to face each other & take each other’s hands. Yunho, will you take Seon Mi to be your wife, your partner in life and your one true love? Will you cherish her friendship and love her today, tomorrow and forever? Will you trust and honor her, laugh with her and cry with her? Will you be faithful through good times and bad, in sickness and in health as long as you both shall live?”
There was a pregnant silence.
“I’m sorry I won’t.” Yunho smiled and left the altar. Seon Mi and other guests were surprised. “Stop there, Yun! You’re embarrassing us!” Came his father’s stern voice. Yunho turned around, “Why don’t you marry her then? I’m so fed up with your threat, Dad!” The old man’s face turned red, “If you leave this place, you’re no longer my son!” Yunho stopped and turned his head, “I was never your son right? You think of me as a fucking doll!” With that Yunho left the church. “Way to go, Yun!” Changmin’s cheering voice could be heard before he stepped out from the church. Yunho laughed and ran to a place where he knew he could find Jaejoong.
Yunho turned the key hurriedly and gazed the house. When he found a figure he missed so much, he smiled.
“Lunch’s ready.” Jaejoong smiled.
