Guilt

Jaejoong fastened her pace to a certain place. He impatiently pressed 36 in the elevator. He got out from the elevator as soon as the steel door opened. A woman stood up from where she was when she saw Jaejoong

“Hello, Mr. Jaejoong. How can I help you?” She smiled at Jaejoong but Jaejoong didn’t even bother to smile at her.

“Where is that stupid boss of yours? I want to talk to him.”

“He is in his office, Sir.” The woman could clearly see that her boss’ boyfriend wasn’t happy. At all. Jaejoong made his way to the familiar office. He opened the door and found a man sitting there typing something.

“Hello, honey! What brings you here?” The man stood up as he walked to hug Jaejoong but she pulled away.

“Hey, what’s wrong, dear?” The man furrowed his forehead to show his confusion.

“Don’t you dare honey me, Yun! You didn’t tell me about your new job. In San Francisco!” Jaejoong emphasized ‘San Francisco’. Yunho let out a sigh.

“How did you know?”

“It doesn’t matter how did I know. What matters now is why you didn’t fucking tell me!” Jaejoong could feel his blood raised up to his brain.

“I was about to tell you, Jae.”

“Oh, when, Yun? When you’ve landed in San Francisco?”

Both shared a brief silence.

“Our relationship hasn’t been going well lately. Why did you make it worse by not telling me, Yun?” Jaejoong felt a sharp pain in her head. He massaged his forehead and sat on the sofa. Yunho didn’t answer him.

“Cat got your tongue, Yun? You know what, I don’t think you care about me anymore I fe-“

“The reason why I haven’t told you is I want you to be with me in San Francisco.” Yunho finally spoke up.

“You mean, you want me to move to San Francisco? I can’t, Yun. You know that! You know that my career is on the peak right now! Why can’t you understand me?!” Jaejoong rise his volume up.

Yunho looked at her angrily. His face was red and fury could be seen on his face. “I can’t understand you? Then what have I been doing all these years? You are so fucking crazy about your job! You put your job first before me all these years right?! I’ve been bearing with you and your job for 5 god damn years!”

“I’m crazy about my job?! Then what about you? You cancelled our date because of your job!” Jaejoong shot back.

“Oh, come on, Jae! Don’t put the blame on me! You even cancelled our flight to Malibu only to what? Only to meet your so called important client!”

“Where is the patient gentle Yunho? You changed, Yun!” Jaejoong almost shouted.

“I changed? You changed, Jae! Ever since you got promoted, you didn’t even care about me anymore!” Yunho yelled.

Jaejoong looked at Yunho angrily. “You know what, Yun. I’m done with this. We’re through!” Jaejoong stood up and walked out from Yunho’s office.

“Fine!!” Yunho slammed the door of his office.

Jaejoong came home late that night. When he opened the door, his mom rushed to hug him and cried.

“Yunho-He-he was hit by a car on the way home!” Jaejoong fell down on the floor, he was trying to digest what his mom just told him. His mom took out a small box.

“He-he was holding this tightly before he was hit.” Jaejong opened the box and inside it was a ring. He couldn’t hold back her tears anymore.

“Yunho! Don’t leave me!” He burst into tears in his mother’s embrace.

End of Flashback

Jaejoong wiped the tears on his cheeks as he remembered about Yunho. He regretted every single second he argued with Yunho that day. He wished he could turn back the time but he knew he couldn’t. Yunho had left him alone and he could feel the guilt still haunted him.

“Yun, I love you. I’m sorry.” He whispered weakly and closed his eyes.
