Okay, so apparently the last time I posted anything meaningful about my life was on August 22, 2007. Yeesh. This might get kind of long, be warned...
September:
-Got hired as an office assistant in the support department in a law office in Milwaukee. Started on September 6.
-Officially started as a staff accompanist at the Milwaukee Ballet School.
-Officially got turned down by the last teaching/education related job I applied to. Lame.
October:
-Missed Homecoming because we had to go to Sam's uncle's (third) wedding. It was at this super fancy hotel in downtown Milwaukee. Champagne for everyone, filet mignon, the works. Way to show us up, dude (but our reception had WAY better music).
-Went to Knox the weekend after Homecoming so I could go to the Knox Choir/Nova Singers concert. All I have to say is: Wow.
-Started working in the paralegal department at work half time (covering in the afternoons for a girl who was on maternity leave). Much more interesting than filing in the front of the office.
November:
-Began two months of almost solid traveling on the weekends because of the holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, etc)
-Got transferred to the paralegal department full time. Realized I liked it MUCH better than working in the support department.
December:
-Went to my first professional football game. Packers vs. Rams in St Louis. Dad bought us tickets as an enticement to drive down to Springfield. Packers pretty much whooped up on the Rams. I got to see Brett Favre break the career passing yards record.
-Had 3 great Christmases (my dad's, my mom's, and Sam's parents).
-Drove down to Chicago on New Year's Eve to see Heather, which was awesome!
January:
-John Campbell came up to visit for a week after New Year's. We watched the Iowa caucuses like a bunch of political nerds.
-In that vein...Obamarama!!
-Took John to the Zoo for free. They do a free day the first Saturday of each month in the winter to keep people coming in the cold.
February:
-Um, nothing much so far...We went to a Bucks game, went to the Zoo again, went to the Milwaukee Art Museum (which was awesome). Basically, we're still getting to know our new home city.
-Celebrated our 6 month anniversary!
Things are going incredibly well for both of us. I really like my job (both of them), and Sam is doing really well in law school. In short, married life is awesome :)
