So, it went pretty well. No major slip-ups (at least for me), and the audience was happy with it. Except for the heat. The air-conditioning had gone out during the day, and the professionals didn't show up to fix it until showtime, at which point they were told to come back the following morning. Furnace, oven, sauna...all these were applicable terms. Standing in the (surprisingly breezy) hallway backstage of the Circle Theater, one could hold out one's arm through the doorway and feel exactly where the wall of heat began. For my costume I wear a light blue silk shirt under a lace-up bodice, and by the end of the night the only part of this shirt that had not turned dark blue and dripping was a strip across my bustier cups. Sexy, huh? Then I cooled down with free beer in the lobby. Rawk.
