My mom has been putting all of our old family home videos on DVD. She is making me a special collection of all of our WDW footage. We have some Disney history on tape, and I am so glad we have it! We have footage of Kilimanjaro Safari when it used to end with a real CM with a gun pointed at the poachers. We have footage of the live Muppet Stage show that was where The Little Mermaid Show is now at MGM. It was replaced when Muppetvision 3D opened. We have the old Illuminations. We have the Tapestry of Nations parade. We have a view of the Yacht and Beach Club and Swan and Dolphin, before the Boardwalk was built! We have footage of the pink birthday castle for the 25th anniversary. We have Horizons on tape (what is now Mission: Space). I can't believe how much stuff we have! It is so great!
Tonight is another Christmas party. I am getting much more comfortable with the whole idea. I am now the master of introductions and small talk. Maybe that skill will matter someday. If it is ever an Olympic competition, sign me up!
And then the big event today was going to see King Kong. I watched the original on t.v. this week and was pumped about seeing the new one. It was really amazing. I was not expecting it to be anything more than Jurassic Park meets giant monkey. But I really enjoyed it. It is 3 hours, but honestly felt like it was over in 2 seconds. They stayed close enough to the original that they didn't lose anything, but added a lot to make it more current. I give it two thumbs up.
