Going SEXY with Dr. Martens!

Aug 08, 2009 19:13

Seems like i'm one who have been staying in the cave or in the well! Despite Dr. Marten's constant appearances on magazines, blogs or fashion reviews, I never paid much attention and often thought they look bulky, dated and etcccc.

So... I don't know if it was the new design lately that caught my eyes, i think the new designs are just too hard to be missedddd! Feeeeling lazy and laid back again, thanks to invention of the internet technology, I get to view a pretty much extensive collection of Dr. Marten's designs!

Wheeeee....

'cos of that, a few designs are shortlisted for my wish list for this year. sigh. i hope i could grab one soon.
Prices range from as low as USD 50 to approx USD 150. It depends on the cut (ie. high or low cut), designs and materials.

As of now, I have yet to received any negative comments about Dr. Marten's comfortability and quality. Conclusion, they should be worth your every cent.  OHHHH, they pledge for lifetime guarranteee! WHOA.

You willl seee more reds than other colours, 'cos i'm a fan of all-things-red!

Feasting time for your eyes....

Model code: NELLIE yellow patent lamper+coated canvas
Now going for USD 50 onlyyyy!

Model code: 1460 red patent mcmartens tartan
Scottish-inspired! It reminds me of students wearing this amazing pair of their castle schools! Styish!

Model code: 1460 womens red patent lamper
Pair it with what many call as acid-wash or stone-wash rugged skinny jeans, plain top/ tank and complete the look with a statement blazer.
Tada! Smart casual chic!

Model code: 1460 womens red croco patent
As much as I like simple things or design, textured surface designs are my fav too. The idea is like Yohji Yamamoto, pairing black garment of different textures or fabrics on one outfit. Red could do the job too if you put a little effort to mix and match with other range of red without going OTT!

Model code: 1460 white+black softy t+gliter flocking
A feminine floral touch to this hardy pair! Seriously breaking rules with style! I love such combinations, like how you want to look androgenous but feminine at the same time! Wheee you could wear with a black ripped/ slashed stockings, white/ red/ earthy tone dresses or outfits and you are ready to go! Think summer or victorian, your choice of style! SO VERSATILE, isn't it?

Mode code: Johari Black Palatino
Crap, the name used for this "metal eyelets" just slipped my mind. Anyway it seems like something MJ would have used to be seen in either during his concerts, interviews or streets. It's pretty rock&roll and punk, but it can be sexy and gothic depending how you match it. As for me, needless to elaborate, just gonna wear it with red patent trench coat and my Chanel-inspired two-tone stockings from Taipei! :)
No need for any drama queen for this!

Model code: Pascal Strong Blue Lamper
Last pair to comment, i love the quirkiness and  simplicity of this pair. This reminds of a all-white interior of a contemporary space including all gadgets and fixtures. Surprisingly the red isn't very impactful to me. I thought the blue is a WHOA to admire even from far. Pair it with silver dress/ top/ bottom to give the 60's space-age look OR pair it with multi colours like the harajuku japanese style.
You decide your style!
