(no subject)
I've discovered I get a lot more done when John isn't home. He doesn't prevent me from doing stuff but I seem to want to do things around the house when I'm alone. He went out for a fish fry with a ham radio club so I did the dishes (one handed. I hope they are clean LOL) and then baked some bar cookies. I have quite a bit of experience doing things one handed from the accident years ago and this time I can use my right hand but I just have to be careful so I felt up to it.
I got the recipe off of FB. They aren't bad. I had one when it was still a little warm so the real test will be now that they sat covered overnight. The recipe is: 1 box of yellow cake mix, 2 beaten eggs, 5 tbls of melted butter, 1 pkg chocolate chips or M&Ms or whatever. Mix it all together put it in a 9x13 greased pan. Bake at 350 for 20 to 25 minutes.
The dough is incredibly thick so it's a bit difficult to mix and spread in the pan but it baked up nice. This is perfect for if you need something fast and easy.
In a few days I'll be baking brownies for my co-workers and go visit them. The woman who was replacing me took down my number in case she needed to vent but so far I haven't heard from her so she must be doing just fine. She was hired to be my partner so that I didn't have to do it all at the same time. I suspect they think they hired her so they didn't have to give me a raise. On one hand, I'd rather have a partner, but on the other hand, they need to throw me a bone anyway. I deserve a raise. I've been very up front with my feelings. I know my worth and they know I know. My last day one MGR asked me if I was really coming back. LOL!! I told him that was my plan but if I find a job in the meantime I'd let them know but I wasn't actively looking.....yet.
