Working on my final term paper of the semester, to be presented in my final graduate Soc theory class tonight. I'm writing it over what Existentialism has to offer the discipline of sociology, as evidenced by three works: Albert Camus' "The Rebel," Ernest Becker's "The Denial of Death," and Simone de Beauvoir's "The Second Sex." I'll be using the methods of analysis of these three authors to provide a different take on traditional sociological concepts like the social construction of gender and sexuality, the existence and nature of class conflict and revolution, and the source and function of religion.
I'm probably getting too ambitious, but that's usually when I do my best work. Heh.
