We got back home early because of the letter mishap at SPIRAL Arts. Mom went off shopping with Dad (something I have yet to do). I made some necessary phone calls, blah, blah, blah...am excited to see friends tonight! :-)
I wandered into the dining room, wondering if my sister had perhaps left her flute and stuff there or if it was still in her room or if she had actually remembered to bring everything with her to school. As I was looking at the floor, I saw something that sort of looked like peanut butter. I hesitated, not wanting to get too close, afraid that what I was looking at on the floor wasn't peanut butter but the result of one of the dogs going to the bathroom in the dining room. (Their favorite spot, if they do happen to have an accident in the house). Nope. What I saw was, in fact, one of the wise men that must have fallen off the side board. We don't actually place them in the nativity scene until January 6th, but we have them start off on the side board and after Christmas, move them a bit each day so they reach the nativity scene on Epiphany. So we had a fallen wise man. I picked him up...and noticed that he didn't have a head. It had, in fact, been chewed off, and there was no trace to be found of said head. I showed it to my brothers, shrugged, and placed him with the other two Magi. I want to see if anybody notices. :-)
