Nothing much new here. Basically, I completely bummed around the house all day. I didn't even change clothes until 2ish in the afternoon. I just sat here in the office and lived vicariously through my sims. And this evening, my sister and I watched the Fellowship of the Ring, extended version. I think I annoyed her by reciting half the movie, but it was fun anyway. Tomorrow's plan? Watch Two Towers. Or perhaps I'll just watch Harry Potter on ABC Family.
I learned that I can keep a fire going! I went to bed last night after stuffing the fireplace with a few logs and followed the steps my dad told me to, and - voila! When I woke up in the morning, the fire was still going! This small event excited me greatly. Not that it would have been that hard to make another one...it's just that lighting matches isn't my favorite thing in the world to do. Give me a blow-torch any day.
I also learned that it's hard to make-up a queen sized bed. I'm glad I'll be sticking to a twin size for a good, long while. ;-)
I finished scarf number two last night, and am currently knitting scarf number three, and so far, I only made one tiny mistake, and I already have a good chunk of it done. I'm using my mad purling skills too -- knit one, purl one. Maybe I'll next try something more adventurous, like a hat.
Right now, I'm reading "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!", by Richard Feynman. This has to be one of the most outrageously humorous books I've read in a long time. Feynman, simply put, is an amazing person. He won the Nobel Prize in physics - absolutely brilliant guy. The stories, as well as the way he tells them, are refreshing, witty, and highly amusing. Who else could crack safes holding secrets about the atomic bomb - safes that were supposed to be uncrackable?
