(no subject)
Just had my third day of work at Amazon! Nothing much to report yet; I've mostly been meeting people and getting my laptop set up. As someone who's never worked at a truly massive company, I've been fascinated by the amount of infrastructure--there's a huge internal wiki, an employee directory complete with org charts, and scads of archived mailing lists. I barely have to talk to anyone at all. :o) Everyone's been really nice and helpful, though.
It's a nice location--right near Embarcadero (so a shorter commute), and the Google office where I have friends. I should lure them out to lunch sometime...
I can't tell if I really have nothing much to report, or if my brain is just overloaded from processing all the new information I'm trying to cram in it. I'll see how I feel in another few days. In the meantime, though, it feels really good to go to work and have something productive to do all day!
