Life is pretty good right now. I still have days where I have no energy and get sad for no reason (is depression *during* pregnancy instead of after a thing?) but otherwise I am doing good. The cravings are intense though, can't seem to fight them at all this time. I become obsessed with specific things until I get them. (Finally got my watermelon last night, for yay!). I feel like I am huge already...already having to wear maternity shirts (all of which I am hating this time around, blah...may buy a few more at the thrift store).
Went bowling yesterday (we are in AMF's summer bowling program thingy...I knew kids could bowl free all summer but I didn't know they had a thing where up to 4 adults can bowl 2 games a day free too for only 35 bucks all summer, so we are signed up for that too). Ally had a good time once she got over being scared of pushing the ball down the ramp. At first she wouldn't push it, so we told her to have cowie (her little lovie cow doll thing) push it, and she was willing to do that, and then she wasn't scared anymore by the end. She enjoyed watching Mommy and Daddy bowl too. (Plus I kicked Daddy's butt, hehe). It was good exercise for me, but my hip/pelvic joints hurt pretty badly a few hours after.
Ally is such a smart cookie - she is eating up all the signs we show her. She has learned many more since last I posted the list, but I won't list them all again this time. A few highlights are that she can now sign Mommy, Daddy, and Auntie Kelly, and has learned dinosaur as well. Plus she now signs phrases sometimes instead of just words. It's great. Doctor didn't seem worried at her 18mo appointment that she was only signing, not speaking. He did say it was very unusual and he had never heard of a kid doing it like she is himself, but he seemed far more amused than worried. Which was what I needed for reassurance. She was at or above her age on everything else.
Next weekend is the great potty training adventure - will let everyone know how it goes. I am tremendously nervous, honestly, but I hope it works. Kelly is excited and I think Paul is mostly ambivalent, lol.
So I have been reading up on hypnobirthing this time around for my labor. I would love to take a class on it, but don't think we can afford both that and a doula, so it would be an either/or thing, so I am hoping what I can read on it will be enough. I want a totally different birth experience than the first time, so here's hoping that can happen. Turns out Kelly knows a doula at our church, so we are going to get in contact with her soon and see if we click with her, which would be nice. Already getting excited for the birth and it is still 25 weeks away, lol.
Grow little acorn, grow!
