...and I don't mean her diaper...*that* is taking much longer lately since she is always wanting to roll over and crawl away during. Even using the changing pad strap thingie doesn't work because unless we have it so tight it has got to be painful she can just crawl out of it. Silly baby.
A day after the doctor's office, she learned to do 2 of the things I had to check "not yet" on on her questionnaire. She can now let go with one hand, bend down, pick up a toy, and stand back up with it. She can also now walk along things sideways while holding on. She has currently made it from one side of the playpen, around the end, to the other side. I keep looking up at her and she is further along. Although now she appears to be moving back this way. All while talking to the things on my desk, hehe.
She has gotten really very good at standing up holding on. She can do it easily with only one hand on something now, and has even let go a couple times. This usually results in falling into a sit, but a few times she has balanced like that for a couple seconds and then grabbed back onto whatever she had been holding. Those times always amaze me.
Seems like we have her top teeth working their way in now. Very hard spots on her top gums, and *much* fussiness. Getting her to sleep lately has been rough. On top of that, we are both sick, which is awful timing.
This kid *loves* to eat real food. Seriously, she thinks it is the best thing ever, except if she is really tired - then she prefers a bottle still. It is super fun picking out things to feed her, hehe. (Also, kids menus have a *ton* of food, way too much for her to eat, so we usually end up getting a side of something when we are out...except at ihop where a kids meal is free, hehe).
Took her to the aquatic center today for the second time...she *looooves* the water. We start her "water babies" swim lessons next week, and I am so freaking excited for it. She is going to have a blast. She doesn't even mind getting water in her face or anything, which blows my mind. She's a natural in water, hehe. (also, the aquatic center is super great...3 water slides, a wave pool, a shallow pool with sprayer thingies, a baby pool with baby slide, a lap pool, and a *giant* hot tub - good times).
In sadder news, my Gramps passed end of last week. :( My dad flew out on a red eye wednesday night, but didn't make it in time to see him, which just breaks my heart. Mom says he seems to be doing ok with it, though. And he says that my Nanny is doing good too. Still, prayers for the family are appreciated.
