mostly for my out-of-the-country friends.

 Step 1.
+ Make a post to your LJ.

The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a ______ icon that's just for me.") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD.") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV."). The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.

+ If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your e-mail address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you. (Note: home address, not required!)

+ Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

Step 2.
+ Surf around your friends list (or friends friends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:

If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use -- or even know where you could get someone's dream pure-bred basset hound for free -- do it.

You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf -- to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

o1. I want something old. Something you've had for ages but never got around to throwing out-- like one of those pointless nick-nacks you collect over the years when you go on vacation, or an old bag that you never use anymore (if there are random drawings and squiggles on this bag, EVEN BETTER!). Something you would miss once it was gone, but then feel silly for missing it.
o2. Music. A mix CD filled with all of your favorite songs.
o3. OLD NOTES! Oh my god, I love old notes. Notes that you passed with that boy you liked when you were thirteen, assignments you never turned in for class because you and a friend wrote all over it. Notes addressed to me are always welcome as well. XD
o4. Old books (are you seeing a trend here?). The faded and falling apart kind, and the ones with scribbly annotation-- those are the best.
o5. PICTURES! Of you and your friends and your annoying siblings and your parents and the view outside of your window.
o6. A lamp. I know that sounds odd, but I am looking around my room right now and thinking to myself that what I need at the moment is a nice little lamp. Preferably one with a very interesting lamp shade that will not catch on fire... because my last one did, and my room still smells like a bbq because of it.
o7. Candles. I love candles.
o8. Tea. Preferably tea that will keep me warm, and tea that smells so good you're almost too distracted to drink it.
o9. I enjoy scarves and mittens.
1o. And warm, fuzzy hats.

THIS IS SUCH A CUTE IDEA! I love it! Hopefully I get that job so I can afford to send out all these packages which I fully intend on sending out.
