MoCCA was a blast.

It was like an SVA illustration/cartooning reunion. Saw most everyone in my year and a few others whom I'd had classes with. Sales did decently well, though the sexy lady postcard set I'd made didn't sell at all - I ended up trading some of them and the recipients seemed to like them. They need more work, I'm thinking. Back to the drawing boards!

Now it's time to focus on the Gen Con portfolio, learn objective C for iPhone app work and generally focus on all the upcoming Sketchy's events. I've become a permanent member of the set dressing crew as well as helping Molly to get the branches organized. It's the most fun I've had in administration work ever - considering that for one project, I had every branch email me photos of their half-naked models.

Yum.

Last month I had my first real illustration job for a mid-sized toy company based here in NYC. Images should be released this fall and I'm hoping that I get called back for more work. Adobe Illustrator and I are starting to put our differences aside and become fast friends. I need to purchase a proper copy of it now.

I do hope to spend the rest of the summer working from home. My in-house graphic design job down in Bay Ridge has run out of things for me to do and besides, it's becoming entirely too hot to wander down there with my poor, beaten macbook in tow.

Summertime is a very busy time.
