It's here!

Two images from my gallery blitz between Nov - Dec 2007.

Sorry the photographs aren't very good, I haven't had the time to color correct and tone down the light that was reflected on these. I generally spray about 5 coats of gloss varnish onto my pieces and it's difficult to photograph without having to manipulate it afterwards. And I'm not putting too much time into that until I get my new printer - I plan for it to be either the Epson 1800 or 2400, depending on what my partner in payments decides on.

Following that, we might start looking for a studio space.

This is from the Post-Apocalypse show at Pochran Studios in Dumbo. The text below was written by Pat R. creator of the webcomic 8 Easy Bits and a wonderful writer. I'll possibly transcribe the text at another time, but it's brilliant. It's essentially a creation myth with apocrypha in it.

This is from the Disaster Convergence show, also at Pochran Studios. The text was written by my friend Sean Clarke, who is also a wonderful writer and whose text you also won't read until I feel like transcribing it. It deals with the Great Flood and a prophet.

These two pieces are both from a new series I'm working on that marries text with images to form modern illuminated manuscripts based on a series of religious stories, from a religion that does not exist. Everything that I'm using is based on stories that can be found in more than one religious text, where they all seem to draw parallels.

This past weekend I also made a triumphant return to Dr. Sketchy's for their incestuous Addams Family theme. It was the most packed I'd ever seen it! I think I'll need to start showing up an hour early...

In a few days my new site will be up - I've had trouble securing the web space for it. I'm terribly excited.
