The Disaster Convergence is coming up - December 6th to be exact.

It will be at the same gallery space as the Post-Apocalypse: Pochran Studios in Brooklyn, NY.

I've been working hard at my newest piece for it. I also had a small show on Nov. 17th up in Tarrytown, so I can't say I've been able to work *too* hard on this new piece. In fact, right now I just have a half-gessoed canvas. I think the dust that rises up from sanding it is doing a number on my lungs worse than my cigarettes.

I say it's half-gessoed because I finished up the tub of it, but it's not a flat, shiny surface, even sanded down all the way. It might remain that way... the texture is lovely and inspiring.

I also watched Mirrormask to help inspire me, since this piece is continuing on my Religious Texts series and I don't necessarily want the people involved to be human. Next up, I shall watch Pirates of the Carribbean as I "research" more thoroughly.

It's been exciting to press myself so hard, I must say. I hope to continue along this path once the shows dry up. I mostly need to find more writers to contribute passages to what's turning into a full book of modern illuminated manuscripts. Or learn how to write better.

Either or.
