Today feels so good and lazy, I wish every day could feel like this! For some reason it's nice and cool outside, so I've got the windows open and a breeze flowing through. I can't wait til we buy our first house and can have long floaty curtains instead of these icky blinds!!!
It's hard to believe my first year of grad school is already over. I don't know what I'm going to do when I have to go get a real job :) Anyone hiring a professional student???
So I finally got my acrylics, and boy are they fun!!! I did a random sketch that was just supposed to be for my first "practice" painting... and ended up falling in love with the sketch (of course). I started painting it on watercolor paper last night, but I think I may try it on one of the canvases I bought since I'm not sure if I like how the paper reacts. Of course, that means transferring the sketch again, but what can you do? Here's a preview of my first sketch (without the details/background): Briar Rose:
Once I eat breakfast (yes, I know it's 3 pm!) and such (maybe read some Harry Potter?), I'm going to start painting her again. I love, love, love real paint!!!
