Don't tell my fiance that I'm watching the news at 8:30 in the morning... he may freak out lol. I couldn't sleep after his alarm went off this morning, so I got up and turned on the tv while I checked my email. McCain was giving a speech, so I paused to watch. After being a political science minor it's impossible for me to take what a politican says seriously. I wish more people took poli sci classes and learned some of the science behind politics. Then when they hear a speech that "gives [them] the tingles" they'd understand that 99% of what the politican said was bullcrap. *Sigh*
Yes, my poli sci classes made me a political cynic. Working in politics worsened the cynicism from my college classes, too. Watching the presedential candidates has done nothing to change that! In fact, it's confirmed it. I don't understand why Obama is so popular-- I can't stand the guy. Or his wife. Or Hilary. I don't know much about McCain, but from what I know about his voting record I don't like him either. None of these people represents me at all, and their "solutions" to the millions of problems in the country right now are ludicrous. Did you know Obama's solution to the gas problem is to create more bike lanes?!?! I mean, seriously?!? Yeah, that will work reaaaal well. I'll just stick all my merchandise, tent, tables, and chairs on the back of my bike when I have an art festival. And who needs groceries?
Ugh. Nuff politics. It always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The good news is CMT is playing great country videos right now! So I don't have to watch more news ;) Aaand I may have finished my commission last night! I'm waiting to hear what my client thinks. That means today I get to start working on my own stuff-- I need to post bookmarks on my website and update it, start redesigning the site, and of course, paint! Though the 2.5 hours of sleep I got last night feels like it... maybe I'll try getting another hour or two before I get to work. Or four hehe.
