... unless you like terrible dialogue, lots of gratuitous nakedness, lots of horribly misshapen men, and kings that look like drag queens... oh, and tons of blood spatters!
Tim and I bought tickets to see 300 at the IMAX theater, and the show was sold out so there were no good seats left, so we drove all the way back out there a few hours later to see the next showing. What a waste of a Sunday night! I am positively mystified why it has been such a hit and why everyone loves it. Yes, as an artist I could appreciate some of the visuals, and a few of the battle scenes were neat. But good lord, the rest of the movie was abysmal!!! Definitely one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
Anyway, I'm SO happy it's now spring break. And I get to go home in a few days for the first time since December! I hope the next two weeks go by slowly, since when I come back, school resumes and I have to start an internship and then take finals. Not that's not all interesting... but boy is it nice to relax.
I've been trying to get my fallen angel painting done ASAP, and tonight it really fought me with a vengeance. I have three different faces that I painted for it, so I picked the one I felt worked best, and tried to add it to the body. SO not happening!!! I have no idea why it's not working, but I cannot get the head & body to look right together. I'm contemplating painting another face at a different angle to see if that will help, but I'm so frustrated, I worked on it for almost 4 hours. Then I looked at my reference photo more closely, and realized maybe it's just the pose itself, cuz the model's head looks funny compared to the body in that one too! Or maybe I'm just totally crazy...
