New kitty!!!!!!!
YAY! Today Tim and I got a new son. We'd only just started talking about getting a companion for Savannah, but I guess when we think about something, we move pretty quickly. We went to this awesome no-kill shelter today-- Cat Adoption Team (CAT), the largest in the Pacific Northwest. We LOVED that place! The facility is amazing, as are the volunteers, and of course, the kitties. "Boogie Boy," as he was originally called, was sleeping on a shelf. I woke him up and started petting him, and he crawled right into my lap! We really liked a couple of other cats too, but he was just so great, Tim was like "Let's just get him today"... and like I need any convincing. So we got him! He's named Strider after the character in Lord of the Rings.
It's suggested you keep cats separate for about a week in most cases, but he and Savannah are so sweet that they introduced themselves a few hours after we got home, and now they are doing everything together already!!! It's so fun to watch them play together, and so sweet when they curl up under the bed together. We're in heaven, it feels like he's been a part of the family forever. I'm just so happy right now!!!!!!
I need to do some serious art tomorrow. I need to pick a picture and transfer the sketch and start painting... August is flying by way too quickly, and my pile of paintings-in-progress is growing longer, not shorter. I love fall and Halloween! I hope I can do a few paintings that do them justice.
