Not the night I expected

One of my co-workers asked if I wanted to go shop at Century 21, I had nothing else to do so I went. When we got off the subway we were smack dab in the middle of Ground Zero. I have never felt like it was my place to go there, like it was the grave of a stranger I had no right to be at. But when I was standing there I felt very different. I felt like as an American I had every right to be there and pay my respect to everyone. It was very powerful. There is a building right next to Ground Zero draped in black tarp-like drapes. I fell like it is still in mourning. I am very glad I went.
