The Cartoon Drama....

Feb 20, 2006 13:28

Well, ok, more then drama...

I am shocked, not that the cartoons sparked such outrage, as anyone who has spent more then these past few weeks studying or reading on Muslims know just how horrific this cartoon was tot heir religion and them as people.

When one takes one of their holiest figures, and then creates and image of them (already insulting), THEN makes him a terrorist...well yes, riots are bound to happen. Deaths are never excusable to me.

What I am more appaled at is how many people are over looking larger issues which may have prompted the REpublishing of the cartoon. Yes, it was published once, and apparently did not cause enough of an outrage, so they put it out there again. That does not smell a bit fishy?
Probably not, but then again how many people pay attention to international politics or the European Union...and I don't mean you know of it or who is in it, but the intricacies of what it is, nations trying to join, power struggles with controlled votes and Germany being the largest, most powerful nation with the most control over the EU with France as its bitch (yep, just like WWII)

Do you know who one of the pre-accession states is?

Come on, guess.....

It will become the largest nation in the EU, which means it will control the largest block of votes (taking that right from Germany)...

It is a Muslim nation....

Give up?

Turkey.

Many nations within the Eu are terrified to allow a Muslim based country join, forget that they will then flood the EU with Muslim immigrants and have the largest voting block, basically controling the way in which things will happen.
Before they will ever be allowed in Germany will fight to maintain their votes, while reshuffeling the way in which votes will be issued to nations, with them, of course, maintaining the most.

Now, I have already spoke to a friend who ismuch more knowledgable about the EU then myself about this and once I told him my theory he saw it too....

This was done in part to help block Turkey and thus many Muslim based nations from joinin ght eEU by showing how truly volitile they are and their people are uncontrolable.

Upon entering the EU, people are allowed to travel freely within the Eu member states (sometiems a restriction is initially placed on them to rpevent massive floods and job drains and such, but it is usually lifted shortly after everything settles into place)...this means terrorists in Turkey when it becomes a memebr state will now be able to move within the EU freely.

Nice....I am sure the UK loves this idea since the tube bombings, as does Spain, I am sure...
The Danes are rather close to Germany, historically, and especially within the Eu since if you want something done, go to Germany.

Now I am glossing over many serious intricacies for the EU, but frankly, it s rather hard to explain an entire government body in an LJ post, but I am trying to give folks a picture of things happening there to establish the reasonings, the much larger economic reasonings behind the cartoons release....

I truly belive this has to do with the accession of Turkey and other Muslim states. I don't agree with it, but if you bother to watch EU happenings in the near future, I bet good money this will now become a major factor.

I plan on wiritng a paper about this ASAP, so this is me more brain storming while also explaining this to others who may actually know about the EU on here.

Also everyone wants to throw around their outrage about this situation without thinking how this might have larger political implications and was strtegically done...our gvt is not the only one who uses propeganda and such to accomplish much larger goals, now is it? And if you belive the US is evil and only we would do such things, think again....Americans are usually just ignorant to internation news and politics to ever care what happens in the next state over, much less another continent.
