My Movie Review of... DOOM
I have to give Doom a C-. I didn’t understand it at all infact I can hardly even tell you what the movie is about. It had NO plot whatsoever and the movie is very SLOW. It was a rip-off of Alien basically. However, the creatures were really scary and well-done. In the closing minutes of the film, "Doom" quickly devolves into an on-screen honor to the game itself, and the audience becomes one of the characters, hunting down monsters in computer-generated landscapes and battling zombies. I enjoyed that part a lot; it was very different than any other movie. It was also very gory, a little nauseating at times. Some will love it and others will get dizzy from motion sickness. There’s no dialogue in this movie. They either say dumb jokes or swear and the swearing is non-stop. If you have the video game (which this movie is based on), I suggest you stick with the video game! Infact, it would have been better to see someone playing the video game instead of sitting thru this movie about it. I do not recommend it.
