THIS IS EVERYTHING THIS AU SHOULD BE AND MORE. FABULOUS AND AMAZING AND EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING IS SUDDENLY RIGHT WITH THE WORLD BECAUSE THIS FICTION EXISTS.

You really keep Yamamoto in character, even as he's kind of flipping out about this part of his body that isn't really right with who he is. The panic of the moment really reads true to Yama and to someone who is FtM. Lovely lovely lovely. There aren't enough words for how exciting this fic is!

Thank you for the feedback on Yamamoto's characterization. It's always a little difficult for me to write him panicking, since we don't see much of that side of him in the manga. But yeah, I'm kind of in love with the idea of him being FtM. ♥

I actually wanted to write yama coming out to goku for this fic, but stupid me procrastinated and didn't have time to write it properly by the deadline. MAYBE. EVENTUALLY.

I agree: something about him being FtM is infinitely attractive as a writing subject. Well actually, him as any sort of nontypical queerness in Yamamoto is super appealing: I can imagine him as transgender, transexual, polyamorous, asexual, aromantic... Really, anything. He's just one of those people who seems like there's just SO much that he's not telling us up front. And of course, there's nothing to hide and he shouldn't feel like he has to share..... but this is still Yamamoto, and keeping in his nonsecret "secret" would kill him. BUT THEN HE "CONFESSES" AND EVERYONE IS LIKE "DUDE, YOU ARE STILL OUR YAMA" AND EVERYTHING TURNS OUT OKAY.
