moderngypsy, it's all your fault!

I woke up this morning with a plan. A plan that involved art and stuff. A plan that involved a return to FoofaLa. As I sit here (finally off the phone-dang dad wanting to talk about everything and nothing and pricing transparencies online for me) looking at my goodies, I am a little anxious but really excited.

I went to Michael's and bought some gold acrylic paint (turns out the gal at FoofaLa told me she used the same kind I bought before I told her what brand I bought) as well as some gold wax stuff to rub on afterwards to make something look gold or antique-ish. Also purchased a 6"x6" blank journal with a cover that has a texture of canvas so I should be able to paint and decoupage and all that fun stuff and got some gold colored fibers to embellish with if I so choose to. At Tarzhay I found these tiny Scrabble letters that are wooden but also stickers and also a neat collage sticker with hearts and things on it. Also bought a cheap sketchbook so I can try out painting techniques there first instead of ruining my journal. At FoofaLa, I got two tiny copper doorhandles and some gold heart shaped brads. There was just WAY too much in there that I could get into trouble with and then be sitting in my craft room, in tears, because I felt too overwhelmed with everything.

I think to start, I'm going to paint the cover gold and go from there. Wish me luck...
