It's tax time again. I always seem to find more time and energy to post here when I'm stuck behind my computer for hours in end... if I had internet access at work, I would be in big trouble and never get anything done.
I've found over the years, I get more and more annoyed at people. Everyone trying so hard to get more and more - regardless of how undeserving they are.
Them: I didn't work all year, but I did get unemployment.
Me: Did you have taxes taken out of your unemployment.
Them: No. I needed the money too much.
Me: Alright. Your going to owe $X,XXX. to federal and $XXX to State.
Them: But why? I didn't work and what about my earned incoming credit?
Me: Earned income credit.. is based on money you actually earned. Unemployment is not earned.
Them: ( Insert several cuss words)
Me: I'm sorry, but you have to pay taxes against your unemployment. It's not free money.
Them: I'm going to get a second opinion.

And what kills me the most. I've watched people go down the hall and pay someone $300. to get the same answer, when we were doing it all for free.
