Hi folks,
Back from a lovely lazy time in Fiji, less lots of stress and plus some body mass (gotta love and hate those all-inclusive packages *g*)
I didn't get any new writing done, but I did reread "the Writers Journey" and have worked out how to strengthen the last third of Firehorse. I've done some pre-planning of the next book, tying it in with some storyseeds in Firehorse.
I also started revising Shattered Kindred and figured out a new inciting incident to vitalise a flabby start to the novel. I think it will introduce the challenges and enemies in situ and get rid of much of the "As you know, George"s happening in the important first three chapters. Looking at the text, I have the unhappy feeling I'm going to have to rewrite from scratch rather than revise. I think my writing style has developed too much to try to save the old draft. The old draft may just have to be a very fat outline *resigned sigh*
