From here:

"Summary: Eomer is the king of Rohan. A man comes from a distant country to negotiate trade agreements and brings with him a pet, but not just any pet, a pet Elf."

And the author tells us she has "no idea where this idea came from."

Oh, for the love of Nienna, Lady of Tears, who is surely crying her fracking eyes out! You have no idea where this came from? How about the zillion other stories where Elves are slaves of some sort, or captured, tortured, and otherwise abused?

Look. I have no problem if you like seeing the pretty ones tied up, enslaved, hurt, raped, whatever. I get that, I really do. I even share the kink. But when it goes against *every* *basic* *premise* of the fandom, you should really consider finding some other way of indulging the kink. That's all I'm saying. Because Haldir? Would die first.

There is no way to make "elf as a slave," much less a pet, work. It just... doesn't. You want to see an elf hurt, raped, tortured, whatever? Fine. Write that story and then have the elf *die* at the end. Because that's what would happen. Or if they're lucky and rescued, they head to the Grey Havens. Period. Those are the only choices.

It's like having Yoda working for the Emperor. It's like having Dumbledore join forces with Voldemort. IT DOES NOT WORK.
