I just spent maybe 10 minutes downloading approximately 15 stories by
altariel and
killabeez from
Archive of Our Own to my Kindle. This used to be a process that (if I was lucky and the story wasn't spread over 25 separate LJ entries or archive chapters) took 10 minutes per story.
The process used to involve a lot of cutting and pasting, running macros, fixing formatting, editing metadata, running through converters, and checking the output. Now I go to the story and click "download" and "mobi" and I have a perfectly formatted story that is ready to drag and drop to my Kindle.
Plus, on my Xoom (Android tablet), from the mobile version of Firefox, I can also download stories directly from the archive then sideload them into the Kindle app. And then I can even bluetooth them to my phone, if I want.
THIS IS ALL SO UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING.
