01. Hellooooo to all my new friends! Make yourselves at home, grab some cookies. :)
02. I finally changed my layout, after months of being too bored to look for a new one. And I really like it! I also re-did my profile... It was high time for a change.
03. I went to the movies tonight and watched The Happening, by M. Night Shyamalan. Um. It was a good movie, and it had its moments, but mostly it was just ... weird. The central plot is obviously very interesting and makes for some breathtaking, chilling moments, and a lot of suspense. Some scenes were very well directed, especially one towards the end, and the atmosphere was just right. But the movie had a lot of different moods, at once. One moment it was a family drama, the next it was a black comedy, then it was a thriller about an old lady and then back to its main theme of the Happening. But the different elements weren't seamlessly tied together. Like my friend
lime_and_salt said, it seemed like Shyamalan hadn't decided what kind of film he wanted to make. The dialogue was at times really weird, so I can't really blame the actors for their deliveries. It was a good flick I guess, I just feel like this could have been a much better movie. Props for the very last scene, though.
04. I think I once mentioned that I have a soft spot for old actors. By which I mean actors who are now 60 or 70 or 80 or maybe have even passed away, but whose hotness back in the day is simply undeniable. So I've decided to post their pictures, for your viewing pleasure.
My ultimate crash from then: Christopher Plummer.
Mostly with Julie Andrews, from The Sound of Music era. Which I have watched a thousand times just for this man.
Paul Newman. The man was just flawless. I will be very sad if the rumors of him having cancer are true. :/
*jawdrop*
With Robert Redford, in Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.
Speaking of Robert Redford. Some people liken Brad Pitt to him. To which I say: HA. HA HA. AS IF.
Brando. No words needed.
Al Pacino. Such a fox.
(Is it bad that I thought he was hot as Tony Montana?)
TOO MUCH AWESOME CANNOT HANDLE IT.
The Godfather. Sigh.
And since we're talking Corleone... James Caan.
Harrison Ford. This guy can pull off anything, regardless of the role, the difficulties, or his age.
Han.
Indy.
And just for the lolz:
Dustin Hoffman. He's got it.
Tim Robbins. Yes, I know, he's not in the same era as the others (has he even hit 50 yet?), but he's just so great.
From the set of The Shawshank Redemption. You'll recognize the scenery if you've watched the film.
With his partner Susan Sarandon. Most awesome couple in Hollywood.
And I saved the best for last: my beloved Jeff Bridges. Seriously, I LOVE HIM. I ADORE HIM. I've taped his A&E Biography and watched it 30 times. He's an unbelievably talented and versatile actor, amazing photographer, piano player and composer... He's even handwritten his entire official website. We're talkin' AWESOME here, people.
"I'm the Dude. So that's what you call me. You know, that or, uh, His Dudeness, or uh, Duder, or El Duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing."
~The End~
Hope you enjoyed!
