We live in a society where so many people are misinformed about breastfeeding. It truly is the best thing you can give your baby. Formula doesn't even come close. The more research I see, the more I am a believer that breastmilk is liquid gold.
With my first child I wanted to nurse so bad! Unfortunately, my OB at the time bullied me into not doing it. With my daughter I was determined to nurse. It is one of the most wonderful things I have ever done in my life. We have such a wonderful bond because of nursing! and I work 45 hours a week! I'm still pumping at work and my daughter just turned 13 months old.
I encourage every new mom I know to breastfeed. It is not easy in the beginning but it always gets easier and it is so worth it! My mother in particular was one of those people telling me not to nurse in public or not to do so in front of family. She still thinks that way, but I don't let it stop me... and she knows it. She is even at the point now where I can nurse in front of her and she doesn't even bat an eyelid. Don't let it get to you.
Your new baby will thank you for the rest of her life!
oh, and we cloth diaper! It's so easy and has saved us hundreds (and probably even thousands!) of dollars already!
