I've made a discovery: Danny and I are slobs. Big time slobs. We might be two of the dirtiest people on earth. That's how I feel anyway. One week ago today, I spent the whole day cleaning the house. Sorting out the clutter, throwing things away, mopping, doing dishes, washing countless loads of laundry. At the end of the day, I felt really accomplished. Here we are, one week later and the house....is almost as bad as it was before I cleaned it last week. We are two VERY messy people, I suppose. Part of the issue is also having a new baby in the house, but I'm not making any excuses for us.
I'm trying to force myself to get into a habit of cleaning things every day, but I'm making somewhat slow progress. I do well on days when I'm home alone and Danny is at work, but I think that's just because I get bored. Or because I want him to come home and notice that I did something productive with my day. He's been fussing at me to spend less time on my feet because I'm still recovering from my C-Section, but I don't buy the excuse anymore. Evan is one month old and I'm pretty much all the way healed.
Anyway. So far today the only thing I've accomplished is cleaning up after the dogs (stupid dogs, getting on my nerves. guh.) and starting a load of laundry. I'm planning on doing some dishes and cleaning the kitchen next, but I'm not so sure that I'll get everything done before the baby wakes up from his nap.
I suck at being a housewife, but hey...I'm working on it!!

On another note, Evan is one month old as of yesterday. I'm still just as in love with him as I was the day I brought him home from the hospital. He's learning something new every week and he's getting so good at holding his little head up on his own. He's eating 4 oz at each feeding now (!!!!) and last night, he actually slept for almost 8 hours...HE SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! I feel so great today since I got a full night's sleep. It sure makes a big difference.
My mom and Meme (my grandmother) bought Evan a bouncy seat and brought it over to him today. He loves the thing and it puts him to sleep. I'm already a big fan.

My Granny is getting out of the hospital today. I'm glad. She has a bad infection in her leg from her diabetes (we're guessing..) and she's been in the hospital since Tuesday. I hate seeing her there, but it puts my mind to rest knowing that she's there for a reason and that she's doing a lot better. I'm glad.
