VENT-ilation: Networking, or 6 degrees of roadkill
I think once upon a time I used to call the rants I posted "vent-o-matic". I'm not sure why "o-matic" - perhaps I was a whining machine at the time with lots of "output". From here forthwith, these will now be known as "VENT-ilation" as we all need to release some steam now and then.
Ok, I can understand that you're protective about your contact list. I understand that you're being honest about the industry, situation and or my prospects. What I can't understand is that you WON'T refer anyone else to speak to? Yellow pages listings aside, even a vague acquaintance of yours could prove fruitful. I know you forwarded that urban legend chain letter promising a huge financial windfall or an extremely happy and fulfilling love life to at least 6 of your friends, so... what gives?? Superstition trumps an earnest humble inquiry these days? Maybe I should preface my intro's with a similar threat of misfortune if not acted upon... :P
