I sent the NXL off to Nintendo and it's a painless procedure. Go to the website, state the problem, print a label, pack it up, send it and whooosh. Or in my case get them to send a label because I am lazy and it was free. The hard part was finding a box to mail it in.
On Friday 5th I got a text saying I would get it back Monday via dpd. If those guys worked Saturday, then I would've gotten it Saturday. Lazy gits.
Unfortunately during this time I think I completely broken the barrel of the right hinge and need to buy a new one if I am to fix the old XL. How fucking stupid am I? I could see it coming off, put a clamp on the hinge to stop it from coming apart, but fucking kept on using it. An unfortunate brush against the clamp moved it and snapped of the hinge for good.
The NXL is back and absolutely no sign of the dead pixel. The disposable Mii I put there was still there. It appears to be the same NXL, which surprised me as when I sent my DS Lite and Micro they gave a brand new one both times. Even the same piece of foam thing I placed between the screen was still there (I put a knick in the corner). The year shows up as 2011 as the battery was removed.
All is good right? Nope. So far I have been unable to Streetpass. Maybe the wifi doesn't work. I can't test the wifi right now as I have a BT guy downstairs trying to fix my connection. If the wifi is out then maybe the repairguy didn't plug in the wireless thing properly which is something I can do myself. But I got a new 12 month warranty so why should I do it myself?

omg the bt guy is peeing again that's twice in 2 hours. Short pee too. maybe he has a problem?
5.21pm
Internet still not fixed
Wifi and Streetpass does work! I wiped the old data and BAM. Everything works. It was the temporary Streetpass bug from removing the battery.
5.30pm
BT man has given up. Says he has asked them to switch the lines by they are backed up/slow/not working. if it doesn't come on in an hours then panic.
7pm
Internet came back, rejoice!
e: There were two pieces of paper in the box and I thought they were the backs of the mail label. Several days later I looked at them a little bit closer and realised they were screen protectors! They ask you to remove screen protectors before you send it in so to get a replacement is nice. However, they have rounded corners so it sucks.
