my sacrifices:
1. Getting highlights/dying my hair. The box color looks just fine on me and only costs $7 versus $45 and up at Aveda.
2. Bottled water. I have finally bought a plastic water bottle and have started carrying that around instead. Besides, it holds way more water than a 12 ounce plastic one.
3. Going to the movies. I have Netflix and most of the time I can manage to wait and see a movie until it comes out on DVD. Or I borrow DVDs from my roomie's crazy insane DVD collection (chris and joanna have at least 100).
4. Going to clubs/bars that have a cover and/or are far away. Cover takes away from drinks or food. Besides, most clubs aren't worth it anyways.
5. Concerts. I have not been to a concert since last year. Free concerts are great and discounted tickets from Eckerd are awesome, but Ticketmaster prices can be ridiculous. Sadly, AC/DC tix were $100... something I cannot justify.
6. Travel. I haven't been on a vacation (unless you count home which I don't) in almost two years. And if I do decide to take a vacation or trip, it will most likely be close to where I live (Miami, Orlando, Philadelphia, Baltimore, DC).
things i refuse to give up (this is important too!):
1. Good perfume. Once you've had a taste of real perfume and not Bath and Body Works, there is absolutely NO turning back.
2. My DVR box. It might cost me an extra $10 per month, but it is soooo worth it because I'm never home when my fave shows are on.
3. The occasional cappuccino or latte. Doesn't have to be Starbucks, but since quality espresso makers are still hella expensive, I think it's ok once in a while. Mr. Coffee doesn't make the nice foam on top or have the delicious espresso taste.
4. Fruits and veggies and other healthy food. Raspberries taste much better than junk food despite their higher cost. Food also has the ability to make me happy so I think it's something that shouldn't be compromised (much like sleep).
