Just thought I'd better write something before any more time escapes me.
Can't believe it's already mid November! The weather here is strange-
last week was a time warp back to summer with 28degree days. This week it's back to winter with everyone getting out their scarves and jumpers (or according to my multicultural teachers- sweaters and jerseys).
A quick rundown of the past 2 months:
went to WULAI- quaint hot spring town,an hr south of Taipei. Sarah and Johnny were there for a weekend getaway so I caught the bus down to see them. There were staying at the 5-star Spring Park Hotel where ALL the water was from the hot springs. We're talking tap water, swimming pool, drinking water etc... We walked around the local shops, ate sticky rice in bamboo and rode the cable car up the mountain. There was a waterfall but I didn't think it was that crash hot- everything pales after Niagara. In true Gee-Wong family holiday tradition, we managed to get stuck on a unplanned hike up the mountain. (Phillet-Remember the 2hr walk to the top of the crater in Hawaii?) We kept seeing people walking down in the other direction and hearing the sound of a train...eventually,as the bushes parted, we realised that you can catch a train UP and DOWN the mountain!
HESS: my classes are great- my kids are so cute!
did manage to piss off some of the boys because I changed their seats. They spent the whole lesson giving me filthies. They got over it by next lesson.
For Kindy we have a field trip every month- have been to the Earthquake centre and the Fine arts museum.
"Look at this painting, what colour is it? What shape is it? Very good- I said don't touch Sean!!!!"
Next month the theme is the Pet Shop and we are going to the zoo!
Tony's: due to unforseen circumstances, our fave hangout has closed until they find new premises. It's really sad as we were prob there at least 3 nights a week- good food, cheap beer. Now have to pay at least $NT120 (five bucks!) at the bars :(
just shows u can't take anything for granted cos tomorrow it could be gone!
the silver lining is I may lose some weight from not drinking beer every other nite!
Harry Potter starts this weekend!!! think Fleur looks a bit like that annoying Kirsten Dunst but can't wait to check out Hermione at the ball!
