I know I never post, so it's selfish of me to do this so sporadically and with such disjointed, thoughts, but...
I finally finished (all of) Kagetsu Tohya. Even though I only got slightly weepy during some parts of Tsukihime, and only really sentimental during the majority of Kagetsu Tohya, I cried my eyes out during "Drinking, Dreaming Moon." I'm not kidding. Once I started, I just couldn't stop. When I finally did cut it out, they mentioned the bottle and two cups and I started up all over again, even harder than before. Previously I'd been bawling because it was so sad, contextually (if you've played it you'll know what I mean), but knowing that it was real all along pushed me over the edge. SHIKIIII! ;__;
It's probably because I had such a hard time getting attached to half of the heroines (Ciel especially-her route was sort of badass, but Ciel...), but I really think it's the supporting cast that makes Tsukihime what it really is. So seeing SHIKI and Yumitsuka again was.. Well, it was great. And SHIKI and Shiki's relationship is something that I've gotten really fond of too, especially after the coffee scene in Tsukihime. Drinking, Dreaming Moon was a good follow up to that. But maybe a bit too good. Huu...
Also, even though I went into the first game not caring too much for her, I've really gotten attached to the Hisui + Shiki pairing. It hits a lot of points, I guess, but their chemistry is..maybe a bit better than the others? I didn't think their stuff was developed well at all in the first game so I was surprised to see it advance so naturally through the course of Kagetsu Tohya.
Also really like the interactions between Yumitsuka and SHIKI- there's a lot of unexplored potential there, and they play off each other well. Ah, and there's the whole, "I'M YOUR FATHER SO LISTEN TO ME" bit.
But back on the Kagetsu Tohya stuff, I really thought the H scenes were borderline inappropriate in this game. As in, they almost seem to change Shiki's personality entirely. He's a jerk in the sack, way more than most any other leads, and I'm more than ready to admit it, but the stuff with Len made him sound like a lecherous old man. The option at the end with Len flowed better than the H scene. Made the whole bit seem like fanservice (which it was), but at least they made it optional this time. Too bad I can't stand having incomplete CG sets.
