So I was asked recently why I don't pay attention to the news. After all, how can I be well informed if I don't pay attention to the news?
Well, let me give a few reasons:
Lindsy Lohan and other retarded celebrity fodder. Really...Why must the news be inundated with their tales of stupidity. There are more important things in this world to worry about than the necklace that Lindsy Lohan took or the size of Kim Kardashian's ass.
Buttocks enhancement injections? You may be wondering how that comes into play. Well, a woman recently died in Philadelphia because she had said procedure done illegally, by a highly under-qualified person. I hate seeing stories like these. People are so obsessed with everything they don't like about themselves that they go to such dangerous extremes. Granted, there are a lot of things I don't like about my body, but you know what? It's not worth getting sick or dying over.
Politics. Republicans, Democrats, whatever. Bitch and moan all you want about this administration. Keep in mind however, that no matter who is in charge, the little guy will always get screwed somehow. Sometimes I wish I could gather all politicians up, cram them into a rocket, and shoot them into the sun. Party affiliation be damned.
How the media reports things. There's always a slant. Nothing is ever reported with any sort of objectivity. Just give me the facts about the story. Don't try to push your point of view on me. Keep your agenda to yourself.
So that's just a few reasons why I tend to avoid the news. No news is good news as far as I'm concerned. I'll stick to watching FoodNetwork.
