I think it was a while ago... yup, just checked, it was May 11... crazy...
So I started a new job on Tuesday. It's going ok so far, but their training method is a little weird. Technically I'm replacing a girl that's going on maternity leave in a few weeks. There's only about two weeks that we're overlapping, so one would think (I would think!) that she would spend as much time with me as possible during that time. However, in the past two days I've spent plenty of time training with people from other departments, and with her coop student, but no time with her. She keeps sending me documents and manuals for stuff and CC'ing me on emails, but she's not spending any time with me herself. She's also not explaining any of the emails she's CCing me on... but she keeps asking me if I have any questions.... well how can I have any questions if I'm not doing anything?? It's very frustrating because I feel like she's going to be gone in a few weeks and I'll have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. I think maybe part of the problem as well is that I learn by doing... not by reading. I might say something to her tomorrow... or to my boss... I also don't have a desk yet which is kinda weird... I've been floating around sitting at people's desks when they're not there for the day... not fun.
Anyways, that's my update... I'll probably be on here a lot more now that I have a job again (ie something to procrastinate from)!
