In other news, my Doctor Who-hating friend Laura has made a friend from Britain, who is forcing her to watch it. Although she's still a little snarky about it, Laura has admitted to me that she thinks K9 is cute and likes Sarah Jane (it was School Reunion that she watched). Being a Buffy fan, she also likes Mr Finch. Let fandom ring!

How comes other people can force their Doctor Who hating friends to watch it?

Is it me, is it my friends, or is it a combination of the two?

*sulks*

Maybe they're more adamant about it than Laura was?

Maybe.

Natalie will cut off any conversation remotely approaching it with 'Oh, not that bloody Dr.(I swear you can hear the abbreviation in her speech) Who! It's crap!' 'It's not!' 'Yes, it is.' 'No, it's not.' 'It is.' 'It's not.'

And Classic Series Hater Hayley will agree to watch the first fifteen minutes of the first episode of The Romans on the condition I SHUT UP FOREVER AND EVER, Amen and somehow find it terribly, horribly boring.
And then deny Ian/Barbara while I gape and try to express that it's The Romans, ffs, The bloody Romans and did she actually pay it any attention at all or has RTD's Doctor Who ruined her for appreciating anything less than explicit text and yay for subtext!

I am now sulking about my lack of real-life friends who like Classic Who and are prepared to watch and/or discuss it with me and will now run back to my Key to Time boxset.

I nearly wore out my Edge of Destruction DVD doing that.

When I bought The Beginning boxset, it was the only story I hadn't seen, so I went straight for it.
Took me ages to get past the menu, because it played that minute over and over. No-one in my house seemed to appreciate it that much.

Have I told you this before? And also, have you read All The Maps Change by ligia_elena?

Yes to both questions. That's one of my all-time favourite fics.
